Simon has lived in Colchester almost all of his life and is passionate about promoting the city, its rich history and heritage, ambitious future and thriving business community. Throughout his career he has been a strong advocate for Colchester, championing the city through his businesses, professional network and community involvement.

As Managing Director of World Mapper Travel, trading as Not Just Travel, Simon provides a personal travel consultancy service, helping clients book everything from package holidays, flights and hotels to cruises, escorted tours, luxury escapes and sporting events. Not Just Travel offers a highly personalised service, taking the time to understand each client’s needs, researching the best options and managing every detail from enquiry through to their safe return home.

Simon also leads Evolution Networking, which organises business networking events in Colchester and the surrounding area, bringing together local businesses to build relationships, generate opportunities and support the local economy. Alongside this, he has more than 20 years’ experience in sales and marketing, helping businesses raise their profile, attract new customers and grow.

His commitment to Colchester extends beyond his work. Simon served as a Borough Councillor for Castle Ward from 2018 to 2022, including as a Cabinet Member from 2021 to 2022, and represented Parsons Heath and East Gates on Essex County Council from 2021 to 2026, working closely with residents, businesses, community groups and local organisations.

Becoming a Colchester Ambassador was a natural continuation of Simon’s long-standing commitment to promoting and supporting the city he is proud to call home.
